Biographical data from the 1983 german edition of his George Orwell's Guide Through Hell: A Psychological Study of Nineteen Eighty-Four. This source tells that he emigrated from Austria in 1938, was 'social worker' and finally Adjunct Associate Professor for psychology of literature at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where he died.
